This was a brilliant, innovative, atmospheric feature. A fresh and clever use of a celebrity presenter who, unusually, not only enhanced the piece, he WAS the programme. Part psychedelic experience, part Broadway musical, part radio movie. It was unlike anything else the judges heard.
An excellent, moving account of a little known subject wihtout sensationalism or sentimentality. In this simple but effective production, a fine presenter struck exactly the right tone and by getting an apology from the Church went beyond the expectations of the listener.
This was a compelling account of a known event from the perspective of those who lived through it. Beautifully compiled and edited, it maintained momentum and pace across an hour, whilst conveying a sense of immediacy. A testament to the power of radio and the ties of community.
A good yarn well told by Jon Ronson, which the production made into a compelling listen. The tone of presentation and use of music unsettled the listener and gave a real sense of impending disaster. Beatifully put together and scripted.
A polished and enlightening insight into an unknown world. The producer made what could have a been a straightforward account into a lively and fascinating programme enhanced by the presenter's lovely script and engagement with his interviewees.
