Mike is leading the project to deliver the 'UK Radioplayer', aimed at growing radio listening over the internet.
Prior to that he was General Manager at Channel 4 Radio, setting up the systems, teams, and infrastructure to launch 3 new national stations. Previously he helped to run BBC Radio 5live, as Managing Editor, Network Manager, and Interactive Editor (occasionally being all 3 at once).
His formative years were spent as a journalist at Radio 1 Newsbeat, learning to talk fast without breathing, and he joined the industry as a Studio Manager, chopping tape, twiddling knobs, and drinking tea.
