Christine started her career at Riverside Studios when Michael Clarke was choreographer in residence and Brian Eno was experimenting with sound and light installations. She worked with many great artists during this time including Kenneth Branagh, Vanessa Redgrave, Gore Vidal, Richard Wentworth, Max Wall, and Willhelm Dafoe's Wooster Group.
After five amazing years of working across Film, Theatre, Dance, Comedy, Literature and Visual Arts she left to join Sir Terence Conran's team at The Design Museum. These were exciting times at the newly opened Design Museum and a big job was to be done persuading visitors to come to the still undeveloped area of Shad Thames.
Christine was headhunted to join the marketing team at Time Out and was quickly promoted to Marketing Director and then to Group Marketing Director working across Time Out Guides, Time Out International titles, as well as the weekly magazine and online. She was the Time Out brand custodian and would regularly travel to Time Out offices in New York, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul and Paris to ensure that brand values were being maintained. She worked on many TV, radio and online campaigns for the brand during her ten years with The Time Out Group.
Five years ago, she left the Capital with her family and moved to the Ribble Valley in Lancashire near her birthplace. She'd very much intended to have a break from work but a respected colleague and friend, Alex Poots, managed to persuade her to help set up the Manchester International Festival. After only two Festivals, Manchester International Festival is widely regarded as one of the most successful Festivals in the world and its reputation for staging World Premieres goes from strength to strength.
